This was Tender Care Home Healthcare's first time attending and participating at Senior Power Day at Cross Roads Village in Flint, Michigan that was held on Wednesday, May 24th.

We were a bit nervous about the weather, as it was predicted to be chilly and rainy, but turned out to be an absolute gorgeous day, with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures.

We were quite surprised at the number of seniors that get out to attend this wonderful event that is for them!!  We had so much fun trying to keep up on making popcorn, playing games with all of the seniors that participated, and just meeting such wonderful people!

We held a raffle for a senior to win either a $50 grocery gift card or 3 hours of in-home service.  We have a winner and once they return our call, we will announce who it is.

We are looking forward and already planning for next years event!

On Tuesday, August 8, 2017 Shiawassee County residents will have the opportunity to vote on a Senior Citizen's Services millage ballot question.  If this is approved, it would renew the county's Senior Citizen Services .50-mill tax levy for a period of four years.

The rate had been reduced to .43 mills due to the Headlee Amendment and approval of the ballot question would reset the rate to its original .50-mill level.

This millage is expected to generate $864,410 in the first year for senior citizen services, based on estimated taxable values.  The funds would be dispersed to the county's three Shiawassee County Council on Aging facilities that are located in Durand, Morrice and Owosso.  In addition, a significant portion of the fund would be used to operate the county's Meals On Wheels program which serves residents throughout Shiawassee County.

Shiawassee County voters approved a ballot question in 2016 that renewed Pleasant View's 2-mill tax levy for four years.  None of the funds generated by this millage will be used to finance construction or operations of the Pleasant View Facility that is being constructed in The Commons medical park off M-21.

We are pleased to announce a 2 year Anniversary this month for, Tammy Gilbertson.

Tammy began her employment with Tender Care Home Healthcare on July 21, 2015.  She has been the type of employee that every employer loves to have!

Tammy goes above and beyond the call of duty and has a heart of gold!  She has made repetitive personal sacrifices for her clients and Tender Care Home Healthcare to ensure that clients needs are met!!

Tammy has been known to leave events, such as a wedding, because her clients needed care and a co-worker called in.   For this circumstance, Tammy left the wedding, and went and provided care to her clients so that they were not left unattended and their needs were met!!

This is just one example of the very many sacrifices Tammy has made in the past two years!

Congratulations Tammy!  Tender Care Home Healthcare thanks you for your continued dedication, dependability and genuine kindness that you have for the clients of Tender Care that you provide care for!!

On Friday, May 19, 2017 our long time, non-replaceable employee, Stacie Shepard will be leaving us.   Stacie has been a huge asset to Tender Care Home Healthcare, LLC!!

Stacie started at Tender Care Home Healthcare, LLC in the early 2000's.  She has been a home health aide, a team leader, educator, friend, jack-of-all-trades and more than all of that, she has been family!

Though, we understand why Stacie is leaving, it is NEVER easy when you lose someone like her!!!   I could get all sappy, but Friday is going to be hard enough, so I won't :-)

Best of luck to you and we ALL love you!!!  But, we know you will miss us and you'll at least stop in for a visit from time-to-time!!

It brings people back to your site:

It’s free:
It costs you a grand total of zero dollars to post to the blog, so if you have something to say, there’s nothing to stop you.
